Ahwatukee Retirement Village is where Ahwatukee started. Developed by the Presley Development Company beginning in 1971 on 2,080 acres, it's the original master-planned community that gave the urban village its identity and its name.
Today the 55+ village comprises 16 sub-subdivisions — RS-1 through RS-9, RM2, RST, RT2, RD1, RD2, RTV1, and RTV2 — containing 1,628 residential lots. The Ahwatukee Board of Management (ABM) maintains common areas across all of them.
The amenity centerpiece is the Ahwatukee Recreation Center, with pools, fitness, courts, and a clubhouse calendar that runs daily. Property types range from single-level patio homes to ranch-style and attached villa configurations.
